Major International Bank

The Bank had recognised the need to modernise its Procurement Operations.

An initial review by MWA indentified the key areas for improvement and provided a supporting cost/benefit analysis - including service-level parameters as well as financial indicators.

Having agreed the Improvement Plan, an MWA Interim Procurement Director was assigned to the Bank. He directed and controlled a supplimentary team of MWA personnel, charged with reducing purchase prices and simplifying internal processes.

After re-engineering the procurement process for each of the 'high-spend' goods and services, new purchasing arrangements were established - and rolled-out for use and application by local branch managers through the UK.

A training programme was developed by the MWA team and delivered to the Bank's staff, introducing them to the new concepts and ways of working - based upon re-drafted Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, - before handing back day-to-day procurement operations to the Bank and its own staff.
