A review of Procurement Operations was carried out by MWA after earlier internal investigations had indicated scope for improvements in service-levels and reduction in costs.
Implementation of MWA's recommendations has achieved both objectives over time.
Key elements of the review included:
Mapping current procurement practices, including end-user involvement at the interfaces throughout the total procurement process.
Identification of wasted, duplicated and unnecessary effort - whilst recognising the need to operate under international 'public procurement' Directives.
Analysis of strategies, techniques, methods and systems used by exsiting procurement groups - leading to rationalisation and integration in selected areas.
